Well, not really. About 8 years ago, Tess, Tamits, Melba and I went to Manila Hotel supposedly to
have a good time in a party hosted by Manila Bulletin and graced by some celebrities. It turned out there was only one celebrity who was there. It was Ara Mina. Ara was a big star at that time, famous for stripping mostly in her movies. The experience was really unforgettable that we wanted to forget but cannot forget because it was hilarious. We went there with really grand expectations. You know -- food, dancing, rubbing elbows with stars. But LOL! big
LOL actually. We ended up with hungry stomachs and achy legs. I guess we came too late because there were no more food when we got there. Actually what was served were only finger foods. And there were no chairs, people were standing up the whole time.
No dancing, just long and boring speeches by people we couldnt care less because of starvation. And just to make our trip to that event worth our time and taxi fare and physical agony, we waited for Ara's song number. She sang "Ayayay Pag-Ibig", and we were like "ayayay masakit ang tiyan at binti ko." After a photo opp with Ara, we left the place and probably walked a mile towards the nearest Jollibee for dinner, at 12 midnight. We felt so pathetic but we couldnt stop laughing at what just happened. We swore to ourselves never to attend their party again.
